Behind the content

Written from commercial practice, not a textbook.

Two pathways

One standard, set at the right depth for each role.

Product managers need the full commercial toolkit. Customer-facing teams need a sound grounding in how the market works. Most companies use both.

Two ways in

I’m developing a team

Capability without taking people out of the business.

Team and company licences give you a mix of seats across both pathways, activity reporting, and scheduled one-to-ones with James. The fastest way to see whether it fits is a twenty-minute walkthrough.

I’m developing my career

Learn the market your employer assumes you know.

Twelve months’ access, a digital certificate on completion and the members’ community. Start with the free MHRA module and see how it is taught before you pay anything.

How it is built

Knowledge alone doesn’t change how people work.

So the modules are the foundation, not the whole programme. Teams can add psychometric profiling and one-to-one coaching on top.

PART 01

Knowledge

UK-specific modules, audio-led, with quizzes, downloads and further reading. Content is reviewed and refreshed as the market changes.

PART 02

Self-awareness

The Spotlight Performance psychometric from Mindflick: a profile, a digital report and a 60 to 90 minute debrief.

PART 03

Application

One-to-one sessions with James to apply the learning to the real launches, tenders and customers in front of each person.

Who wrote it

James Saunders · Founder

Written by a practitioner, not a training company.

I have spent thirty years at the commercial end of medical devices: as a product manager, a marketing leader and now a consultant through Med Dev Services. Across wound care, ostomy and continence I have launched products, priced them, won and lost tenders, and worked with the NHS from both sides of the table.

The Academy exists because I kept meeting talented people who had been handed a commercial role and never taught how the UK market works. It is the training I would have wanted.

Questions

Can I try it before buying?

Yes. The Introduction to the MHRA module is free: add your name and email and it’s yours, with no payment details. It shows you exactly how the course is taught.

How much time does it take?

Each module is about sixty minutes. Most people take one a week and finish PM Academy in three to six months. Access lasts twelve months.

Can we mix the two pathways in one licence?

Yes. Team and company licences are usually a mix: PM Academy for product and marketing, Essentials for customer service and sales support.

Is this only for product managers?

No. PM Academy is built for product and marketing roles. UK MedTech Essentials is for customer-facing teams and anyone new to UK healthcare.
